$55/hr About the role The candidate will report to the Director of Athletics and work collaboratively with the athletic training team to provide preventative athletic medical care to all members of the community. They will also work under the direction of the School Physician via a Standing Orders Agreement. The incumbent must be prompt, dependable, and flexible providing sideline medical coverage for practices and games. The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Saturday, 12:00PM to 6:00PM, with occasional later hours as needed. During the preseason in August, hours may shift to include varying morning schedules. This is a 30-40 hour week; while we have a preferred schedule, we offer flexibility and are happy to negotiate specific shifts to ensure a great fit for both you and the organization. Job Responsibilities The Temporary Athletic Trainer will be responsible for injury prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, emergency care, documentation and communication as it relates to the healthcare needs for the students and staff. This position will include coverage of football and potential travel to away football games as assigned. Skills and experience A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in athletic training, sports medicine, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field Must be BOC certified, possess Connecticut state athletic training licensure or eligible, and be CPR certified Must be able to lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects like coolers. Must be comfortable driving a golf cart to the sports field to take medical supplies and/or water coolers.
