About the Role MAI is seeking a Head Athletic Trainer, responsible for building and overseeing a premier sports medicine program that aligns with the standards of a Tier 1 independent school. This role involves designing long-term strategies for student-athlete health and safety, managing athletic training staff, and coordinating emergency protocols and injury rehabilitation. As a critical liaison between families, physicians, and academic leadership, the Head Athletic Trainer ensures that medical care supports both high-performance athletic goals and the holistic well-being of student-athletes. Ultimately, this professional provides the clinical expertise and operational precision necessary to maintain a safe, professional, and world-class athletic environment. What You Will Do In this senior leadership role, you will build and lead a world-class sports medicine program by developing long-term strategic plans for preventative care and elite injury management. Operationally, you will oversee the scheduling of medical coverage for all practices and competitions, manage the sports medicine budget, and maintain high-performance training facilities. Education :
Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Management, or a related field •
Experience :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in athletic training, preferably in a high-performance independent school or collegiate setting •
Credentials :
Board of Certification (BOC) certified and current state licensure (or eligibility); CPR/First Aid/AED and BLS certifications required •
Expertise :
Demonstrated success in injury prevention, emergency management, and personnel leadership •
Knowledge :
Strong understanding of
HIPAA, EAP
