Job Description

Supervisor - Athletic Training Outreach Program The Supervisor of the Athletic Training Outreach Program is responsible for the operational leadership, staffing, scheduling, and performance management of athletic trainers providing outreach services through the orthopedic practice. Under the direction of the Orthopedic Service Line Manager this position ensures high-quality athletic healthcare coverage for partner high schools, colleges, and community athletic organizations while maintaining strong relationships with coaches, athletic directors, physicians, and other stakeholders. The Supervisor serves as the primary leader for the outreach athletic training team, overseeing day-to-day operations, staff development, scheduling, compliance, and service excellence. This role works collaboratively with orthopedic physicians, practice leadership, and community partners to support the delivery of exceptional sports medicine services. Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related healthcare field; Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred Current certification through the Board of Certification (BOC). Current state licensure as an Athletic Trainer. Minimum of five (5) years of athletic training experience, including outreach, secondary school, collegiate, or sports medicine settings. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory, leadership, or program management experience. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple locations, schedules, and competing priorities. Demonstrated leadership and staff management capabilities. Strong scheduling, workforce planning, and operational management skills. Knowledge of athletic training practice standards, regulatory requirements, and sports medicine best practices. Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities. Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency with electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong teaching, coaching, mentoring, and presentation skills. Ability to develop educational curricula, competency assessments, and professional development programs for athletic healthcare providers.
