EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in athletic training or closely related health field.
REGISTERED
BOC Certification. Licensure by the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers. CPR/AED for Healthcare Provider Certification You are client centered and enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team You have strong verbal/written communication skills and have the ability to work with different personalities You use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making client decisions You have demonstrated commitment to post-graduate professional development You have a valid Drivers License and access to a vehicle What is a day in the life of an Athletic Trainer? Aid in the evaluation of injuries or illness sustained by an athlete, identify injury/illness risk factors associated with participation in competitive sports, and provide health care information and counsel to athletes, parents, and coaches. You will help patients in establishing and meeting meaningful goals within their home and in a community setting You will help create and implement individualized treatment plans based on analysis and clinical reasoning with a physical therapist You will liaise with a variety of community partners and rehab professionals to facilitate client goals and independence You will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational days; training sessions, and establishing personal networks
