Job Description

Position Overview:
DA Athletics seeks a life-changing educator who will join the sports medicine department and provide athletic healthcare services to student-athletes in grades 7th-12th. In alignment with the mission of the school - to prepare each student to live a moral, happy, and productive life - the athletic trainer will keep the experience and development of student-athletes at the center of all goals. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.
Primary Responsibilities:
Practice within the parameters of the North Carolina Athletic Trainers Licensing Law as laid out by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners, and follow both the Standards of Practice set forth by the Board of Certification and the Code of Ethics set forth by the National Athletic Trainers Association. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the staff athletic trainers and under the supervision of an overseeing physician within the six domains of practice, including, but not limited to:
Risk Reduction, Wellness, and Health Literacy Assessment, Evaluation, and Diagnosis Critical Incident Management Therapeutic Intervention Healthcare Administration and Professional Responsibility Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This job will require physical and time demands consistent with the field of athletic training Afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend hours aligned with athletic schedules Multi-site coverage across several indoor and outdoor venues Collaborative and team-oriented athletics department. Required Qualifications:
BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in Good Standing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training required Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of North Carolina CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care certification
Recommended Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience within collegiate athletics or secondary schools Experience working with adolescent athletes in a scholastic setting Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EMR) and injury documentation Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, including strength and conditioning staff, physicians, emergency response personnel, and school staff Strong communication, prioritization and organization skills in a dynamic environment.
