POSITION TITLE
Athletic Trainer SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Practice Administrator, Physicians and a Head Athletic Trainer, the full-time athletic trainer will fulfill a role in the outreach setting with an advanced local youth soccer club throughout Wake County. They will primarily work at an assigned outreach site performing diverse duties associated with Athletic Training. There are three-four different locations/sites for outreach across the triangle that could be assigned. As with most youth sports, the hours for training, competitions, and events are typically in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends. This is a major club that has events likely every day of the week and weekend during seasons. Depending on volume, need, and events, you could be the sole athletic trainer for upwards of 120 athletes at a time or at a site with multiple ATCs present.QUALIFICATIONS

Must be BOC certified, possess or eligible for state licensure, current CPR certification, current NC Drivers' LicenseKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Athletic trainers must have knowledge about a large range of medical problems. Assessment and evaluation skills and working with other healthcare professionals will be needed.Decision-Making Skills:

Athletic trainers work with people in stressful situations. The Position:
The Athletic Trainer is directly responsible for helping the Head Athletic Trainer with the overall administration, coordination, and day-to-day sports medicine operations.Essential Functions:
Communicates with Head Athletic Trainer daily Responsible for final decision of player returning to field, upon recommendations of Physician and Physical Therapist Attend most trainings, scrimmages, and game scheduled weekends Performs as Certified Athletic Trainer in managing the health care of the Athletes. Health care included, but is not limited to, first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, and application of appropriate modalities, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, and conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals Comply with OSHA standards with regard to blood borne pathogens Assist with the order, maintain, and inventory supplies and clinical equipment Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean and organized Maintain player medical records and provide medical information to the Appropriate Physician Facilitate the initiation of insurance claims for players Works well with other Athletic Trainers, fellowship trainers, interns and volunteers as applicable Counsel players in regard to dietary needs, nutritional supplements, and League and FIFA banned substances On a limited basis, participate in community service/educational programs related to sports medicine Maintain Severe Weather issues at the venues, when to clear and return to the field in event of Severe Weather and providing that information to the Coaching staff at all levels, as well as Referees Typical work hours are 2pm - 8pm, but it is expected that this individual will work as needed and put in extra hours inside and outside the office to fulfill all job requirements Must have ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Medium strength is required to position patients for examination. May assist patients as needed, helping them on and off the field or exam table. Need to be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to run to respond to incidents on a moment's notice. Must be able to work in outdoor conditions and inside clinic settings. Athletic Trainer is likely to come in contact with blood and body fluids.Job Type:
