Job Description
Atlantic Health is seeking a Resident Athletic Trainer for Full Time hours in their Sports Medicine Department. The Resident Athletic Trainer will provide sports medicine coverage for medical service agreement contracts, delivering injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and emergency care. This role supports athletic events and programs as needed while collaborating with physicians, coaches, and administrators to ensure athlete safety and regulatory compliance. Availability is flexible based on contractual needs and requirements, but hours are generally from 10a-6p on weekdays but varying hours on weekends. Paid Time Off, Medical Coverage, Job Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care for athletes during practices, events, and competitions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Respond to medical emergencies, including concussion management, acute injuries, and return-to-play decision-making in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with medical service agreements, state regulations, and organizational policies.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, administrators, and medical providers regarding injury status, care plans, and participation clearance.
- Implement and oversee injury prevention strategies such as conditioning programs, taping, bracing, and equipment fitting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant professional standards, policies, and safety regulations governing athletic healthcare delivery.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor to support departmental operations and organizational needs.

- Manages an athlete load of 100 - 200 Admin
- Meets with supervising team member on a biweekly basis for advisement
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Responsible for following policies Bachelor's Degree or higher degree program in Athletic Training or a related field (CAATE-accredited is preferred) NATABOC Certification, required CPR/First Aid certification, required NJ State Athletic Trainer license, required Valid and Unrestricted Driver License with a clean driving record, required 0-3 years of prior experience, preferred
