Job Description

Assistant Athletic Trainer POSTED Friday, May 22, 2026 Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to join the Intercollegiate Athletics team. The Assistant athletic trainer will assist the Head athletic trainer in the day-to-day operations of the athletic training department, to include, but not limited to appropriate application of emergency procedures, providing first aid, documentation of care and communication with the coaches and physicians. This position frequently attends practices and games and coordinates the care of injuries and communication with coaches, athletes and their parents. This is a full-time, 10-month position. This position does not require scheduled office hours during a pre-determined two-month time frame between June 1 and August 1.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans; Conduct injury screening sessions and education programs; Educate students, families and coaches regarding injuries, risk factors and exercise programs; Implement individualized therapeutic intervention and monitor response to therapy to ensure clients safety; Attend games and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or similar field; Valid Driver's License; 2-5 years' experience in athletic training or clinical application; Certification as an Athletic Trainer; Possess CPR and First Aid certifications.
COMPENSATION
$55,000 - $56,000 annually This position is benefit eligible.
