About this Position Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses. Evaluation of athletic injuries. Treatment & Rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Counseling and education of student athletes. Athletic Training Administrative duties to be determined. Assist with the coordination of medical coverage for workouts, practices & home and away games including scheduling of student and graduate assistant athletic trainers. Supervision, education and recruitment of Undergraduate and Masters Level athletic trainers. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Post Graduate Athletic Training Experience Certifications, Registrations, and/or
Licenses:
Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Board of Certification and/or American Physical Therapy Association Prior to hire: Licensed by the state of Oklahoma as a Certified Athletic Trainer Skills, Proficiencies, and/or
Knowledge:
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse department, University and community constituencies Ability to direct and perform confidential detailed work with accuracy under deadline pressure Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautions. Extensive amount of time standing per day and a willingness to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to deal with heat and changing weather precautions and ability to direct personnel in case of severe weather Ability to manage and direct multiple personnel and tasks at one time Experience and knowledge of organizing strength programs, especially for injured student athletes Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database function National and international travel is required. Preferred Qualifications Master's Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy AT/PT (Athletic trainer and Physical therapist) preferred At least 2 years of Athletic Training Experience.
