ATHLETIC TRAINING SERVICE
Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description The Athletic Trainer is a full-time staff position within the Department of Athletics. This individual reports to and works under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. This positions sport coverage will be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer, other duties will include assistance in the Athletic Training Room coverage for the 22 NCAA Division II sports that compete within the South Atlantic Conference Required Qualifications Bachelors or Entry Level Masters Degree in Athletic Training;
  • NATABOC certified;
  • licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee;
  • current CPR/AED certification; valid drivers license Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field; 1-3 years experience working with contact sport, preferably in a collegiate setting Physical Demands Campus Harrogate Job Duty Job Duty The Athletic Trainer will actively promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University, the School of AlliedHealth Sciences, and the Department of Athletic Training to all faculty, staff, students, and the broader community.
Job Duty This individual will foster effective and collegial working relationships among faculty, staff, and students, while adhering to the policies outlined in the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual. Job Duty The Athletic Trainer will contribute to institutional development through service on University committees and by representing the School and Department at professional meetings, thereby strengthening LMU s academic and professional presence. Job Duty A core component of this role involves promoting and maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment within the clinical setting-for students, student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and staff. Job Duty The Athletic Trainer will ensure the delivery of safe and effective clinical experiences for athletic training students by supervising them during intercollegiate athletic team assignments, serving as a role model, and monitoring their progress as an approved Preceptor. Job Duty In addition, the Athletic Trainer will explore career opportunities for students and support their preparation for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam. Job Duty The Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive intercollegiate athletic coverage as assigned, including staffing the athletic training facilities, preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries and illnesses, and documenting all relevant medical records in compliance with legal and institutional guidelines Job Duty The role requires commitment to best practices in athletic training, incorporating evidencebased clinical practices that prioritize the health and well-being of student-athletes. Job Duty The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer to support all aspects of the University s medical program, including budget and supply management, equipment safety and maintenance, and scheduling physical examinations and medical referrals. Job Duty Responsibilities also include assisting with the development and implementation of the University s drug testing and education program, and helping to coordinate the hiring, training, and supervision of Athletic Trainers and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers Job Duty Additional duties involve scheduling sports coverage, managing clinical responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with South Atlantic Conference, NCAA, and other governing body regulations. Job Duty Finally, the Athletic Trainer will maintain professional certification through ongoing development and education and will perform other duties as assigned in support of the University s mission and student success.
