Job Summary Provides direct patient care and education for fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and other durable medical equipment and supplies. Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Provides fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and soft goods including upper and lower body, spine, and ambulatory aids. Provides patient/caregiver education for usage, maintenance, and care of the orthoses. Ensures timely collection of physician prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records for billing purposes. Assists in scheduling patient appointments for initial fittings and follow-up visits in the Equipped for Life office. Assists in stocking and maintenance of appropriate inventories of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and orthoses. Acts as liaison between clinical staff and billing staff to ensure proper documentation for insurance to determine medical necessity. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements Education - Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field of study p referred. Experience - No experience required. One (1) year of DME/bracing and/or Athletic Training experience preferred. Electronic Medical Records experience preferred. In Lieu Of NA Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certification SC Athletic Trainer License/Certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina.) CPR Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database and data entry Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier) Mathematical skills Work Shift Day (United States of America) Location Blount Memorial Hospital Facility Home Equipment - Eastern Tennessee Department Home Equipment - Maryville Share your talent with us!
