Day Shift Help for . The Associate Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive athletic training services and medical coverage for Men's Basketball, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care for student-athletes. This position collaborates closely with team physicians, coaches, and sports performance staff to support student-athlete health, safety, and return-to-play decisions while ensuring compliance with NCAA, HIPAA, and departmental standards. The position also assists with supervision and mentorship of athletic training students and contributes to the daily operations of the Sports Medicine unit..Provide athletic training coverage for Men's Basketball, including practices, strength and conditioning sessions, home events, and travel to away competitions to ensure athlete readiness through consistent presence and sport-specific care.
Evaluate and manage athletic injuries and conditions, including immediate care, clinical assessment, therapeutic treatment, and the development and implementation of individualized rehabilitation plans.
Design and implement injury prevention and wellness strategies, including pre-participation exams, movement screenings, recovery protocols, and student-athlete education related to hydration, nutrition, and mental health awareness.
Communicate and collaborate with team physicians, coaching staff, strength and conditioning personnel, and administrators regarding medical care, participation status, and return-to-play protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation, including injury reports, treatment notes, rehabilitation updates, referrals, and records in compliance with NCAA, HIPAA, and departmental standards.
Provide emergency medical care and implement sport-specific emergency action plans as the primary responder for acute injuries during practices and competitions.
Oversee athletic training students through clinical supervision, instruction, mentorship, and service as a Clinical Preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program; manage inventory, supplies, equipment, and assist with insurance documentation and departmental compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned..
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Sports medicine or related discipline.
- BOC certification and state licensure (or eligibility).
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications.
- One (1) year of collegiate level athletic training experience.
.Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Sports medicine or related discipline.
At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Experience working with NCAA D1 basketball environment.
