Job Description

Under direction of the Assistant AD/Head Athletic Trainer, provide superior healthcare to student-athletes participating at the Division I level in accordance with University, NATA, the State of Utah, Conference and NCAA guidelines.
Date of first consideration:
07/03/2026. Provide direct oversight and daily athletic training services to a minimum of least 2 sports. Ensure that the health services provided for the student-athletes meets all national and state healthcare rules and regulations. Includes working within the scope of practice and maintaining accurate records of all services provided. Provide oversight and direction of the student-athlete insurance program or serve as liaison with other healthcare providers. Participate in devolving and implementing Emergency Action Plans in coordination with other athletic training staff members. Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Assistant AD/Head Athletic Trainer. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. NATABOC Certified with current CPR certification. Current Utah Athletic Training License. (Application for Utah License must be submitted prior to the first date of employment. Failure to obtain a Utah License will result in immediate termination) Proven knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations Demonstrated history of a functional working relationship with strength and conditioning staff. Demonstrated history of a functional working relationship with physicians and other medical professionals Knowledge of and experience in implementing NCAA and NATA best practices and guidelines. Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree. 1-2 years' experience as a Full-Time athletic trainer in a collegiate setting preferred. All positions are contingent on funding. Due to recent changes in H1B visa fees, Southern Utah University is no longer able to sponsor international faculty and staff that require an H1B visa and are currently living outside of the United States.
