Job Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Athletic Trainer substitute will provide athletic training services to student-athletes at both practices and athletic contests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide athletic training services for home practices and athletic contests as assigned.
Provide district athletic training services to include rendering of emergency care at athletic practices and contests and rehabilitation and reconditioning of students whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified athletic trainer.
Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and provide insurance claim forms for sports injuries treated by a physician.
Administer and manage SWAY concussion testing
Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
Hours to be determined based on availability and workload .. Saturday game coverage will be needed.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
District Athletic Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Sports Medicine or related field.
Board Certified Athletic Trainer
State Licensed Athletic Trainer
Two to three years professional experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to effectively carry out the duties of the program and policies of the Walla Walla School District
Evidence of being a positive role model for students
Professional integrity, vigor, flexibility, enthusiasm
Licenses/Special Requirements
Completed Employment Application/ Background Check
Resume of education, experience and references to include three current recommendations
