Job Description
Georgia Hearing Center/ENT of Athens is currently accepting applications for a 2027-2028 Audiology Externship. ENT of Athens is a prominent otolaryngology practice located in Athens, GA. Athens is known for it's music scene, great food, and The University of Georgia. Our practice specializes in advanced surgical and rehabilitative options for patients with ear, nose, and throat issues as well as hearing and balance disorders. Services offered include diagnostic audiological evaluations for all ages, electrophysiologic assessment, BAHA services, and comprehensive vestibular evaluation. Comprehensive hearing aid services are offered through our adjacent Georgia Hearing Center. Our independent practice has 2 ENT offices. New equipment and booths. Our team consists of 9 physicians, 1 PA, and 5 audiologists.

Georgia Hearing Center is a great opportunity for a 4th Year Externship as we offer a wide variety of services for all age groups. Our Audiology services include basic comprehensive audiometry for all ages, ABR, ECOG, OAE, comprehensive vestibular assessments, bone anchored device management, cochlear implant evaluations, cochlear implant activations, and hearing device dispensing for the adult population. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated, self-driven, highly organized extern eager to work in a team environment which encourages professional growth in a fast-paced practice resulting in an Audiologist who is thoroughly prepared for the field. Applicants are required to have successfully completed all academic and clinic experience requirements of their first, second, and third year programs. With the continued growth of our practice, there may be a possibility of employment after the externship has been completed. No promises but it is possible.

Yes Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: Externs should be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill to perform the basic test battery for behavioral hearing evaluations on normal developing adults and children. Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: Externs will be able to demonstrate independence in performing diagnostic hearing evaluations, vestibular evaluations, hearing aid programming and verification, BAHA fitting and programming.
