Job Description

About DUET Hearing At DUET Hearing, we believe hearing healthcare is about much more than hearing aids. We take a biologic approach to hearing care, recognizing that hearing involves two living organs, the ears and the brain. Our focus is on evaluating, treating, and optimizing the entire auditory system through comprehensive diagnostics, individualized treatment plans, and evidence-based rehabilitation. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically driven Audiologist who is passionate about helping patients improve their hearing fitness, communication abilities, and long-term cognitive health. What Makes DUET Hearing Different Hearing does not happen in a hearing aid, it happens in the brain. Our philosophy is centered on understanding each patient's unique auditory system and developing personalized treatment plans that support healthy auditory function, neuroplasticity, and lifelong communication success. We are not simply fitting devices. We are helping patients optimize the performance of a living hearing system. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive audiologic evaluations and diagnostic testing. Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's hearing, communication, and cognitive needs. Provide hearing aid selection, fitting, programming, verification, and validation. Perform real-ear measurements and evidence-based verification procedures. Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, treatment options, and communication strategies. Provide ongoing hearing rehabilitation and follow-up care. Assess and manage tinnitus and related auditory concerns. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records. Deliver exceptional patient-centered care and service. Qualifications Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree from an accredited program. Current Illinois audiology license or eligibility for licensure. Strong diagnostic and hearing aid fitting skills. Commitment to evidence-based practice and clinical excellence. Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with real-ear measurement and best-practice verification protocols. Interest in auditory rehabilitation, neuroplasticity, and cognitive hearing health. Experience working in a private practice environment. Tinnitus assessment and management experience. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a clinically driven audiologist who believes hearing healthcare is about more than hearing aids. They are passionate about understanding the relationship between the ears, the brain, and communication, and are committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care that improves patients' quality of life. This individual is intellectually curious, compassionate, and committed to lifelong learning. They are comfortable thinking critically, developing individualized treatment plans, and building long-term relationships with patients and their families. They understand that hearing loss is not simply an ear problem—it is a whole-person health condition that affects communication, cognition, social connection, and overall well-being. Rather than focusing on devices, they focus on helping patients achieve better hearing fitness through comprehensive evaluation, precise treatment, ongoing coaching, and measurable outcomes. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, embrace innovation, and share our commitment to treating a living auditory system with the highest level of clinical excellence and care.
