Job Description

Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, P.C./The Hearing Center is looking for 2 externs to join our collaborative team in Ft. Wayne, Indiana! As an extern with us, you will be supervised by our CCC-A Audiologists and engage with a wide variety of services for all age groups including: Comprehensive audiometry ABR (sedated and non-sedated) OAE APD Cochlear implants Bone anchored device management (BAHA) Lyric, OSIA, ADHEAR devices Hearing diagnostics and device dispensing Tinnitus management Plus, we have a lot to offer including state of the art equipment including REM (real ear measure), regular lunch outings, fun events that happen all year round to celebrate our employees, and the potential for this externship to turn into a full-time position! Practice:
Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, P.C./The Hearing Center has been the region's premier provider of comprehensive ear, nose and throat care for over 6 decades and continues to thrive and grow. Our independent practice has 2 ENT offices, 7 satellite locations and 1 retail hearing device centers in the Fort Wayne, IN area. Our team consists of 18 physicians/nurse practitioners and 14 audiologists/hearing instrument specialists.

Yes Does the externship site provide orientation to quality assessment, quality assurance and quality improvement? Yes Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: We hope our extern will have adequate foundational skills in order to complete the following: otoscopy, tympanometry, standard comprehensive audiometric evaluation, earmold impressions, and verifying hearing aid technology (any manufacturer) Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: By the end, we expect our extern will be proficient at the above skills in addition to: verification, troubleshooting and programming for appropriate amplification, hearing aid consultations and fittings, ABR (sedated and non-sedated), OAE, APD, cochlear implants, BAHA, and Lyric, OSIA, and Adhear devices.
