Job Description

Category Schools - Audiologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational environment near Detroit, MI. This onsite, short-term contract assignment is designed to cover a 12-week maternity leave from late August through Thanksgiving break, allowing you to make a lasting impact on students and their families during a critical time.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments and educational evaluations to determine auditory and communication needs of students. Collaborate with medical professionals, including clinical audiologists and ENT providers, to gather essential medical reports for DHH eligibility and Hearing Assistive Technology clearances. Provide clear explanations of evaluation results to educators, families, and school staff, supporting effective IEP planning and classroom accommodations. Consult with teachers, support staff, and families about the educational and developmental implications of hearing loss. Participate as part of the Early On Team for the birth-to-age-3 population, including conducting home visits as needed. Facilitate family follow-up on clinical recommendations, ensuring comprehensive care and support.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Audiology (Au.

D.) or Master's Degree in Audiology, with a valid Michigan Audiology License. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) required. 3-5 years of pediatric and/or educational audiology experience preferred. Demonstrated skill in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families. Commitment to fostering educational access and inclusion for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
