Job Description

Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS) is proud to announce an opening for an externship opportunity in our Lincoln, NE Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The position is a 12-month commitment with anticipated dates of June 2027-June 2028 and will consist of 2080 hours until completion. This position is expected to be approved for funding by OAA. As Nebraska's capital city, Lincoln is home to a wealth of museums and cultural attractions. It is a college town with an active and vibrant nightlife. In the city center is the Historic Haymarket District, a unique section of town that boasts shops, galleries, restaurants, and the Pinnacle Bank Arena. Just blocks from the Haymarket sits the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Lincoln is less than an hour from Omaha, home to the famous Henry Doorly Zoo and the College World Series. The Lincoln Outpatient Clinic opened a brand-new facility in Spring 2021. The Audiology program at the Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care Healthcare System in Lincoln includes five audiologists and a health technician. Audiology services provided include general diagnostics, OAE, hearing aid fittings, TeleAudiology, auditory processing disorder evaluations, and cochlear implant services. Externs will have the opportunity for exposure to vestibular evaluation and treatment services at the Sarpy County VA Clinic in Papillion, NE.
