We are excited to offer an immediate opportunity for two doctoral audiology students to join the team at SWHB for the 2026-2027 externship year. This unique training experience provides the opportunity to work closely with both audiologists and physicians in a collaborative, patient-centered environment dedicated to delivering exceptional care. SWHB fosters a supportive culture that encourages learning, welcomes innovative ideas, and values the contributions of every team member. Externs will gain comprehensive clinical experience while working alongside experienced professionals committed to mentorship and professional growth. Our goal is for each audiology extern to gain meaningful, real-world clinical experience serving patients across the lifespan while providing comprehensive audiologic care under the supervision of ASHA-certified and state-licensed audiologists. Through progressive clinical responsibilities, mentorship, and hands-on training, externs will develop the knowledge, skills, and professional confidence necessary to become competent and independent Doctors of Audiology. Skills the student is expected to develop and demonstrate: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations. Independently manage a full clinical caseload, including diagnostic evaluations and hearing aid services. Communicate effectively and professionally with physicians, audiologists and interdisciplinary team members. Perform diagnostic audiologic evaluations and develop appropriate differential diagnoses. Complete hearing aid fittings, verification, counseling, and follow-up care. Provide patient-centered counseling and education to patients and their families. Prepare accurate, concise, and professional clinical reports and documentation. Collaborate effectively as a member of the SWHB team while demonstrating professionalism and accountability. This is a full-time, paid position with a salary of $40,000, eligible for health insurance, paid time off and company holidays. If you are as passionate about learning from a team of audiologists and ENT physicians, we encourage you to submit your cover letter and résumé to careers@fuelmedical.com.
