We partner with academic medical centers in the Northeast Corridor of the United States to admit patients to our state-of-the-art 118-bed facility. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused pediatric Audiologist to join our interdisciplinary clinical team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and implement individualized treatment plans, including the fitting and management of hearing technology (Hearing and hearing assisting devices) in infants, children and adolescents. Working with our youngest patients requires a unique blend of clinical expertise and "play-based" diagnostic techniques. You will be a vital link in a multidisciplinary team to ensure every child has the communication tools they need to thrive. In addition, the Audiologist will educate and train caregivers and related disciplines.Work Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm or 8:30am-4:30pm. The Audiologist will report to the Director of Speech Pathology.Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Assessment:
Perform age-appropriate behavioral testing, including Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) and Conditioned Play Audiometry (CPA).Objective Testing:
Conduct and interpret Electrophysiological tests such as Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR), and Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE).Technology Management:
Select, fit, and verify pediatric hearing aids using real-ear measurements; provide cochlear implant (CI) candidacy evaluations and mapping.Newborn Screenings:
Provide follow-up diagnostic testing for infants who do not pass their initial hospital hearing screens.Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Work alongside ENTs, Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), school districts to facilitate educational success.Counseling:
Guide families through the emotional and practical implications of a hearing loss diagnosis, providing resources for early intervention services.Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of experience providing audiology care to a pediatric population in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in pediatric-specific software and hardware (e.g., Verifit, Oticon/Phonak fitting suites, CI programming software). Knowledge of Expanse (formerly Meditech) and Dragon (for dictation) helpful.Education, Licensure, and Certification:
Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited institution in the U.S. Valid New York State Licensure in Audiology. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA or ABA certification preferred. Pediatric Audiology Specialty Certification (PASC) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
