This position offers a great work/life balance (a great opportunity for a parent looking to continue working in audiology but have more time at home!)
Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing diagnostic hearing test and auditory processing evaluations
  • Reviewing test results in a way that makes sense for educators and parents to understand, with an emphasis on how it impacts the child in their educational setting
  • Performing classroom observations and acoustic checks (ie. taking noise measurements and reverberation time)
  • Attendance and participation in IEP/504 meetings
  • Recommending accommodations for students
  • Fitting and training on HAT systems
  • Troubleshooting equipment problems
  • This position requires you to drive to many different school districts across the state of Rhode Island
  • Annual in-services with educators to review student's diagnosis and implications in classroom
  • Meeting with student throughout the year to work on self-advocacy
  • Collection of equipment for summer servicing
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Audiologist
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Some great traits for this position include: creativity, positive attitude, flexibility, ability to communicate well with adults and children alike
Job Details:
  • Part time or full time available (15-35 hours)
  • Schedule is mid/late August
  • End of June (all holidays and school vacations off)
  • Unlimited PTO while meeting minimum hour requirements
  • Flexible scheduling; you are responsible for taking care of certain school districts but you determine your own schedule
  • Combination of working in office, on-site at schools, and working from home
