As an extern with our team, you will work closely with our CCC-A audiologists and physicians. Your week will be structured in a way that allows you to gain experience with patients of all ages in a variety of appointment types including: VNG & ECochG test administration and interpretation Follow-up programming of hearing devices Hearing device selection and fitting Real ear verification Pediatric testing ABRs Cochlear implant evaluation testing Cochlear implant mapping We also structure the externship to help you achieve confidence quickly and be able to function mostly independently after 5-7 weeks, while still having direct access to your supervisor to ask questions as needed. Practice:
ENT Associates of East Texas and SoundLogic, our thriving and rapidly growing hearing aid center, is a busy practice where we see about 150 patients a day. We offer a wide range of ancillary services including allergy, balance testing, and vestibular rehabilitation and also have a satellite clinic in Longview, roughly 40 miles from Tyler. We are a part of a large medical community which includes four hospitals, over 400 physicians, and also serves as the regional trauma center. Plus, our wonderful town has lots of activities to engage in including the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, Tyler State Park, and the Caldwell Zoo. Additionally, we are less than 2 hours away from two great cities, Dallas and Shreveport!
