Job Description
Job Summary Provide direct one-on-one applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to clients under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and support skill acquisition to improve socially significant behaviors. Key Responsibilities Implement individualized ABA programs and behavior intervention plans as written by the BCBA. Deliver direct therapy to children or adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Use evidence-based teaching strategies (e.g., discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, task analysis, prompting/fading). Collect accurate, timely data on target behaviors and skill progress; record session notes. Monitor client responses and report progress, concerns, or changes to the BCBA. Maintain client dignity, confidentiality, and safety during sessions. Support generalization of skills across settings (home, school, community) and coach caregivers/staff as directed. Follow behavior reduction protocols, including antecedent modifications, reinforcement systems, and crisis prevention/intervention procedures when applicable. Attend supervision meetings and training as required by the supervising BCBA and agency. Qualifications Current RBT credential through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (RBT®), OR If not yet certified: candidates who are the right fit will be trained and supported to become Registered Behavior Technicians. High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of required RBT 40-hour training and competency assessment. Background check and any state-required clearances. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Skills & Attributes Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients, families, and team members. Ability to follow detailed protocols and accept supervision/feedback. Patience, flexibility, and strong observational skills. Basic data collection and documentation skills; comfort with digital data systems preferred. Physical stamina to work on the floor, assist with transfers, and engage in active play. Working Conditions Work primarily in client homes, schools, or community settings. Part-time Close supervision by a BCBA with regular communication. Performance Measures Fidelity to treatment protocols as measured by BCBA observations/competency checks. Accuracy and timeliness of data collection and documentation. Client progress toward individualized goals. Professionalism, reliability, and positive collaboration with families and team.
