Shifts available Monday through Sunday from 8 am to 8 pm - All required trainings, meetings, and certifications will be scheduled and compensated in compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, including overtime where applicable. •Typically scheduled on Wednesdays from 9 am to 12 pm.Travel Requirement:
Frequent Travel (up to 90%) between local and statewide locations may be required. Position Summary The Behavior Technician is a key component in enhancing the quality of life of our clients who experience challenging behaviors using ABA principles. Services are provided in licensed residential facilities, day programs, schools, and family homes, and may include interventions before, during, and after problem behavior. Our focus is on designing and implementing behavioral support plans to address behavior challenges, improve clients' functional skills, and teach expected behaviors; all while creating a positive, fun, and safe environment. Essential Functions Interaction, coaching, and direct supervision of clients with developmental disabilities Supports clients in the community, daily living activities, leisure/social activities, and behavior management Communicates with provider/family and clients regarding schedules, planned activities, outings, etc. The utmost respect for the provider/family culture and home All interactions are positive, emphasizing person-first language Works with assigned clients and models appropriate skills and routines effectively Completes required documentation Follows all of the agencies', providers', and/or families' policies and procedures Employees are responsible for accurate documentation of client-related expenditures; no employee will be held financially responsible for losses except as permitted by law. Complies with all mandated reporter obligations under California law, including timely reporting of suspected abuse or neglect to appropriate agencies and internal leadership. All required trainings, meetings, and certifications will be scheduled and compensated in compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, including overtime where applicable. Typically scheduled on Wednesdays from 9 am to 12 pm. Must successfully complete and pass the certification requirements of Professional Crisis Management (practitioner P2) and Ukeru, including meeting all annual recertification requirements Maintains dependable and regular attendance, including availability to work scheduled hours, attend required meetings, and meet the operational needs of the assigned caseload, consistent with applicable leave laws and reasonable accommodation requirements. Requirements 6 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Must be 18 years of age or older Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent Any post-offer medical inquiries or screenings will be conducted in compliance with the ADA and California FEHA and will be job-related and consistent with business necessity. Background checks will be conducted in compliance with the California Fair Chance Act, including individualized assessment, notice, and opportunity to respond where required. Possession of a valid driver's license with driving record meeting company insurance carrier, fleet eligibility standards and proof of insurance. Required certifications will be provided and compensated in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Certification status may impact an employee's ability to work in client homes. (i.e., CPR, PCM, Ukeru, PMO, etc.) Must have access to reliable transportation for consistent travel. Regularly use electronic devices such as phones, computers, tablets, or other screens. Comply with company dress, hygiene, and professional presentation standards consistent with client safety and workplace professionalism. Working Conditions / Physical Demands This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 25 lbs. May participate in team-based physical intervention or client safety procedures that may involve exerting force exceeding 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, consistent with safety training protocols. The role involves frequent standing, walking, sitting, typing or handling materials, outward reaching, reaching above shoulder height, and bending. Climbing, crawling, and squatting or kneeling are required occasionally. The employee will frequently push or pull loads up to 25 lbs. and may occasionally be required to push or pull weights ranging from 26-100 lbs. All physical interventions are conducted strictly in accordance with company-approved safety training protocols (e.g., PCM, Ukeru) and are designed to minimize risk of injury to clients and staff. No employee is required to perform interventions outside the scope of their training or certification.
