Position Overview:
The Job Coach position is a full-time instructor for a community-based day support service dedicated to empowering adults challenged with intellectual disabilities. The primary responsibility of the Job Coach is to provide unwavering support, compassionate care, and vigilant supervision for up to three adults as they engage in a variety of activities of their choosing within their local communities. These activities encompass work and community navigation, as well as attending occasional classes and special events. Qualifications /
Skills :
Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Previous experience in behavior management is preferred. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to an insured passenger car for short-distance transportation of adults. Clean DMV record with no DUI convictions within the past seven years.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support and assistance to adults with intellectual disabilities in their daily activities. Encourage and empower individuals to make choices regarding their activities and engage in their communities. Assist in navigating the local community, including transportation to and from various locations. Facilitate participation in occasional classes and special events. Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals to develop essential life skills. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to develop and implement individualized support plans. Document and maintain accurate records of daily activities and progress. Promote positive behavior management techniques and crisis intervention strategies when needed. Complete the Registered Behavior Technician video training within the first year. Training hours are not required.

This position does not offer remote work options as it requires direct interaction and support for adults with intellectual disabilities within their local communities.
