Job Description

Category Schools - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting a middle school student as a Registered Behavior Technician for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time contract role, based near Danbury, CT, involves working 32-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in a 1:1 setting. The position is available immediately, continuing through the end of the academic year, with a possibility for extended summer services pending further confirmation. As an RBT in this role, you'll play a vital part in providing effective behavioral support to a student with autism who presents some challenging behaviors, including elopement and boundary issues, possibly related to past trauma. Strong candidates will demonstrate experience working with trauma-informed care and be skilled in building trust, ensuring safety, and implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions. What we're looking for: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification Experience working with school-age children, preferably in a 1:1 setting Proven success supporting students with autism, especially those exhibiting complex or challenging behaviors Trauma-informed care training and application in previous roles Excellent communication, observation, and documentation skills Ability to remain calm, patient, and resourceful in high-stress situations Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics Responsibilities include: Delivering individualized behavioral interventions as outlined in the student's support plan Collaborating closely with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure consistency of care Monitoring behavioral progress and reporting on daily activities and outcomes Creating a supportive, safe, and structured learning environment This position offers a chance to foster meaningful progress in a student's academic and social journey while working as part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
