Job Description

A registered behavior technician (RBT) supports and implements a patient care plan created by a board-certified behavior analyst. They provide ABA interventions that encourage socially acceptable replacement behaviors so clients can build and improve upon their communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills. What this looks like in practice varies greatly, since behavioral therapy is so specific to an individual patient's needs. The job duties RBTs perform every day include but are not limited to: Providing direct therapy to clients in one-on-one and group settings. Following the behavior reduction protocols, skill acquisition protocols, reinforcement systems, etc. established by the behavior analyst or assistant behavior analyst. Collecting and recording data based on client behavior. Complete session notes by the end of business hours. Complete revisions of session notes requested within 24 hours. Communicating with clients, parents, and caregivers regarding client progress Assisting behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts with behavior reduction assessments and skills acquisition Assisting behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts in the preparation of client materials Assisting client's in cleaning up prior to transitioning to the next activity Help maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily cleaning tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned. RBTs must also use sound judgment and seek appropriate consultation from their supervisor to ensure treatment is provided without disruption to the client, others, and the environment. The registered behavior technician position contains 3 tiers within the position.
  • Tier 1: Scores below 80% on the RBT Skills checklist, requires high supervision, frequent note revisions, guidance when speaking to parents, limited group lead in group activities.
  • Tier 2: Scores 80%-90% on the RBT Skills checklist, requires moderate supervision, infrequent note revisions, can speak to parents effectively, and leads group activities with clients.
  • Tier 3: Scores 90%-100 on the RBT Skills checklist, requires low supervision, excels at session notes, uses behavioral terminology correct in notes and with colleagues, maintains appropriate communication with parents, and leads group activities with clients.
Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
