Overview Join our dedicated team as a Respite Provider and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will offer temporary relief and support to primary caregivers, ensuring that individuals receive compassionate, personalized care in safe and nurturing environments. Your energetic and proactive approach will help promote independence, comfort, and well-being for those in your care. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while providing essential services that enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism, or other special needs during scheduled respite periods Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and dignity Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately in care plans Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary requirements while maintaining a clean and safe environment Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance Utilize patient monitoring techniques such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe mobility and transfer procedures Maintain a clean, organized space by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed at all times Experience Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism enhances your ability to provide tailored support Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance and patient safety is preferred Demonstrated ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts is important for resident transfers Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, families, and healthcare professionals are essential for delivering comprehensive care Join us as a Respite Provider where your compassion meets your skills!
