Job Description
The Villages Charter School Autism Center is dedicated to meeting the educational needs of students on the autism spectrum. The center supports students' academic, social, and emotional development through a combination of individualized instruction, specialized programs, and targeted therapies provided by our highly trained staff. Through incorporating principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), students will receive the support they need in a nurturing educational environment focused on individualized learning and growth. The Villages Charter School Autism Center, LLC (TVCS AC) is a subsidiary of The Villages Charter School, Inc. which operates by a charter agreement approved by the Sumter County Board of Education and the Florida State Department of Education. Both The Villages Charter School ("VCS") and The Villages Charter School Autism Center, LLC (TVCS AC) are Charter in the Workplace schools (see also School of Choice) founded primarily for the benefit of the children of employees of The Villages of Lake-Sumter, Inc. and those Business Partners who have in the past and continue to participate in the development of The Villages. Unlike traditional county schools, our enrollment criteria is based upon the place of employment of one of the parents/guardians rather than the geographic address of their home. The Autism Center is located on the Buffalo Ridge campus serving K-6 elementary students, offering a comprehensive support system tailored to each child's unique needs through a collaborative approach involving passionate educators, therapists, behavioral specialists, and families.
DESCRIPTION
The Villages Charter School Autism Center is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) candidate to function as a behavioral and social/emotional support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Salary commensurate with experience, starting at $19.00 per hour. Anticipated start date for this position is July 21, 2026. Hours for this position are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for direct implementation of behavior-analytic services to our students, while under the supervision of a BCBA on campus. In addition, the RBT will perform assigned behavioral, social/emotional, developmental, and data collection tasks in order to provide a quality educational program for students within a specialized school setting. The RBT will support students during the school year and wrap-around services. The expectations include the following and other duties as assigned: Uphold and model TVCS Autism Center Core Values Direct implementation of behavior reduction/social skill interventions outlined on the students behavior intervention plan (can be 1:1, small group setting, etc.). Flexible classroom assignment for immediate support, as needed at that time. Conduct classroom/student observations to collect and submit data needed for Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to the Behavior Analyst. Support with staff training, modeling, and direct implementation of the behavior plan interventions and curriculums for fidelity. Oversight of ABA-centered supplemental curriculum programming including but not limited to program assignments, creation of materials, error analysis, training and coaching of the program, and procedural integrity. Active participation as a member of the crisis response team who use approved crisis management strategies to safely intervene with an escalated student. Ability to use a computer to graph student data, complete visuals, create schedules, and/or pull reports. Assist staff in the supervision of students (this may involve during 1:1 instruction, escorts for transitions, provide approved crisis management strategies, etc.). Assist with students self care/hygiene needs (included, but not limited to changing diapers; toilet training; feeding; dressing; hand washing). Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance, while exercising reasonable judgment and maintaining confidentiality. Ability to communicate with parents, co-workers and professional contacts in a courteous and professional manner while following TVCS Autism Center guidelines. Responsible for tracking supervision hours and keeping active RBT certification. Adhering to the RBT Ethics Code 2.0. Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required. At least 1 year of direct RBT experience with children/adolescents with behavioral needs. Familiarity with Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred. Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and work collaboratively as a team member.ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Noise level in the work environment is moderate, but occasionally, the noise level can potentially reach higher levels for a short duration.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
210 days - Non-Exempt. Length of the work year and hours of employment are those established by the Board. Additional days may be available for work during Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer camps.
