DORDT UNIVERSITY JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE
Behavior Technician
DEPARTMENT
Thrive Center

Director of the Thrive Center
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The behavior technician's primary responsibility is to provide direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to assigned clients with fidelity. The Behavior Technician will work with clients to provide therapeutic services as directed by the supervisor. Services include play-based learning opportunities, community and social support, and structured teaching with clients ages 2-21.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement a 1:1 ABA client programming as written. Collect data with accuracy. Prepare programming materials as needed. Attend weekly team meetings and participate as directed. Maintain scheduled hours to ensure billable client hours are met Use ABA procedures including prompting, reinforcement, shaping, chaining, and error correcting as written. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively. Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university. Prospective members of the Dordt University community are expected to agree with its sexuality, gender identity, and sexual conduct policy which can be found on the DU website (contact the HR Office if you need additional information). Bachelor's degree and experience is preferred. RBT certification within 6 months Physically able to work on the floor with children while providing therapy (sit, stand, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds); and the ability to work with computers and tablets. Ability to work both independently and within a team and to work professionally and ethically with clients Coordination skills for organizing and maintaining records.
