Job Description

Category Schools - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Job Type Contract Discover a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student growth and success in a dynamic elementary school environment for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time role centers on providing essential assistance to teachers and individualized support for students, particularly those with challenging behaviors. Operating Monday through Friday for 35 hours a week, you will be part of a team committed to fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current Illinois Para certification is required Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially those exhibiting challenging behaviors Previous work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or similar paraprofessional role is highly desirable Ability to adapt in a classroom setting and manage evolving student needs Experience assisting with toileting is preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Support classroom management and instructional delivery in collaboration with the lead teacher Provide one-on-one attention and adapt support strategies based on individual student needs Assist with day-to-day classroom activities, reinforcing learning objectives Help facilitate a safe and structured environment during lessons, transitions, and activities Provide assistance with toileting as required, maintaining dignity and privacy Foster positive relationships to encourage student participation and engagement As a vital member of the classroom support team, you'll help shape enriching experiences for young learners and gain valuable professional development.
