PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

• Attend and participate in scheduled individual and group supervision sessions.
• Model behavior management and intervention that is based in positive reinforcement.
• Implement behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs as outlined in the youth's Positive Behavior Support Plans.
• Teach skills during natural opportunities occurring within the context of the youth's natural daily routine and by creating additional engaging opportunities to practice indicated skills.
• Support the youth in care by managing their challenging behaviors as directed in their Positive Behavior Support Plan.
• Where you have received appropriate training, utilize crisis prevention and intervention training, including physical intervention when required for safety.
• Maintain records according to agreed procedures.
• Collect and store behavioral data in the formats indicated by the BCBA.
• Promote the physical, social & emotional well-being of the youth .
• Ensure that the youth is safe and protected from harm through supervision.
• Support the youth in their personal and care consistent with their individual needs and skill acquisition goals while following all relevant policies.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with those involved with youth's care.
• Engage effectively with other staff to ensure a consistency of approach.
• Support the youth in pursing developmental and leisure opportunities.
• Attend and participate in Team meetings.
• Always present a professional image of Key Assets.
• Actively promote health and safety through maintaining a clean environment and ensuring sharps and chemicals are always stored in designated locked and secured locations.
• Learn and follow health and safety rules and procedures.
• Transport youth to the community for generalization of skill goals to settings outside of the group home.

o Use of a company vehicle will also be provided. Personal vehicle may only be used in an emergency. o Youth care workers, facility coordinators, therapists, BCBAs and other staff may accompany to provide additional support to the youth based upon the individual's need and the setting/activities planned. o All community-based ABA sessions will be facilitated with ongoing consultation and supervision of BCBA to plan optimal settings as well as to assess and mitigate risk. o Community action plan will be followed as well as protocols to alert leadership of destinations and plans.

• Based upon team needs you may be asked to provide support in congregate settings where a large number of Key Assets' youth are receiving treatment.

For example, when many youth come to the office for treatment team assessments or during group therapies. A list of possible duties is below: o Data collection during group therapies or treatment team assessments o Facilitating group-wide behavior interventions designed by and supervised by BCBA o Setting up and running stations for skill-building related to leisure and recreational activities (e.g., games at the vaccine clinic, trunk-or-treat station, etc.)

• Provide monthly in-services on each client's behavior support needs to youth care workers under the direction and supervision of BCBA. A PowerPoint will be provided.
• Provide ABA services to youth at the times and in the locations deemed most beneficial to the client.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

• Meet and maintain requirements to keep RBT certification active as outlined in the RBT Manual.
• Adhere to the ethical code and standards set forth by the BACB in the RBT Ethics Code.
• Ensure quality service by following recommendations and guidelines described by BCBA supervisor.
• Perform job duties only within the scope of an RBT, referring emerging treatment and behavior issues to BCBA for appropriate assessment and recommendations.
• Demonstrate commitment to client-centered values including doing no harm, promoting client dignity, and honoring assent or withdrawal of assent for all skill-based treatment.
• Attend training and development deemed necessary for this position.
• Ensure that Health and Safety is observed in the course of employment.

• May be required to assume other duties as may be requested by the Program Director that is commensurate with their level of responsibility and skills.
• Comply with all Key Assets policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school Diploma or GED
• 21 years of age or older
• Valid Driver's License
• Six months of experience as a youth care worker, direct support professional, RBT, paraeducator, or similar role
• Must hold or be willing to pursue certification as a Registered Behavior Technician.

The list below outlines the process to obtain certification an initial RBT certification: o 40-hour RBT course (modules) o Estimated 2 weeks of extensive supervisor led trainings o Must pass a competency assessment by demonstrating all task list items (20) to BCBA o Must pass the Registered Behavior Technician examination

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job primarily operates in a group home setting caring for youth with disabilities. You will be working as a team with Youth Care Workers who care for the youth in the home. Must be able to travel to our three locations: Lexington, Nicholasville or Georgetown. Registered Behavior Technicians will be assigned to two group homes to provide applied behavior analysis to up to 6 clients under the supervision and direction of a BCBA. It is required that RBTs can travel to and work where needed including to the group homes they are assigned to and to the Key Assets office. Additionally, to ensure skills transfer to community settings RBTs will provide a portion of their services in community settings nearby the group homes (e.g., parks, stores, arcades, restaurants, etc.) with the appropriate supports/attending staff provided based upon the need of the client.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent may be required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. This job demands the ability to successfully pass and perform Safe Crisis Management at all times. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
