Job Description

Shaping Affinity's mission is to prioritize compassionate care while targeting behavior change, provide individualized support to families, and closely collaborate with specialty service providers to improve quality of life. We provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with Autism and/or other behavioral needs. Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) assess learners' developmental skills (communication, socialization, health and leisure, etc.), and design behavior plans and interventions to target goals. Behavior Technicians implement plans under the supervision of a BCBA. A culture is being created within our organization to empower each other, accept each other, and to support each other within our individual job roles. It is our intention to welcome newly hired employees, and to redefine the industry norm in reference to retention, proficiency, and work/life balance. Seeking playful and motivated professionals that genuinely enjoy working with young learners. Experience working with children and/or a bachelor's degree is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage. Applicants must be willing to occasionally drive to work sites within the Houma/Thibodaux area. Services are provided primarily in our center-based setting; however we occasionally provide services in homes and community settings. Initial and ongoing training is provided, specifically on Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) competencies. To develop skill sets, technicians should be receptive to feedback and provide feedback as needed. Applicants must clearly communicate with other professionals (educators, speech and occupational therapists, parents, etc.). Support and supervision to individuals working towards professional certification (BCBA/BCaBA) can be provided to full-time behavior technicians. Behavior Technicians primarily work with only one learner for a period of time for consistency, rapport building, and collaboration.
