About the Role The Arc of the South Shore is seeking an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support a new pilot program funded by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Home-Based Residential Supports (HBRS) . This innovative program is designed to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities remain safe and successfully in their family homes while receiving individualized supports. The RBT will provide direct 1:1 support to young adults in the Cohasset and Abington communities and will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Services will be delivered in family homes and throughout the local community, focusing on skill development, behavioral support, social engagement, community participation, and increased independence. What You'll Do Direct Support & Skill Building Build trusting, person-centered relationships with individuals and their families. Support individuals in developing daily living, self-care, communication, social, and community participation skills. Promote choice, dignity, self-determination, independence, and quality of life. Assist individuals in achieving personal goals through structured and individualized supports. Behavioral Support Implementation Implement behavior support plans and individualized interventions developed by the supervising BCBA. Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS), and other evidence-based strategies. Model proactive behavioral supports and de-escalation techniques. Reinforce skill acquisition and positive behavior change across home and community settings. Data Collection & Documentation Collect, track, and document behavioral and program data accurately and consistently. Maintain timely and compliant service documentation. Monitor individual progress and communicate observations, concerns, and achievements to the BCBA and support team. Adhere to all DDS, agency, and confidentiality requirements. Collaboration & Family Support Partner with families, caregivers, clinical providers, nursing staff, DDS representatives, and interdisciplinary team members. Coach and support caregivers in implementing behavioral strategies consistently. Participate in team meetings and contribute to coordinated, person-centered care planning. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification that remains active throughout employment. Minimum of one year of experience working as an RBT . Minimum of three years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder . High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Reliable, insured vehicle and willingness to transport individuals as needed. Current First Aid and CPR certification (training available through The Arc). Ability to work effectively in family homes and community-based environments. Successful completion of all required background checks. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field. Experience working within DDS-funded services. Knowledge of ABA, PBS, trauma-informed care, and person-centered practices. Demonstrated ability to support and engage individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
