Job Overview A New Leaf ABA is looking for a Behavior Technician (BT) to join its growing team! We provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients to teach them meaningful communication, social, play, self-regulation, self-advocacy, daily living, and community skills and coaching to families to assist them with navigating their loved ones' diagnoses. The BT position at A New Leaf ABA involves the direct provision of behavior analytic services to clients in a 1:1 or small group environment. BTs work directly with clients to teach them skills across a variety of skill domains, including, but not limited to, communication, social, play, self-care, daily living, vocational, community living, and more, under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Duties Provide direct behavior analytic services to clients in a 1:1 or small group environment under the supervision of BCBAs Implement individualized behavior analytic skill acquisition programming designed by BCBAs to teach clients skills across a variety of skill domains Implement individualized behavior analytic behavior reduction programming designed by BCBAs to replace a variety of unsafe and disruptive behaviors with functionally appropriate replacement behaviors Collect and track program-specific data to monitor clients' progress with skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming Maintain a safe, organized, and clean teaching environment for clients Consistently report client progress, barriers, questions, and needed materials to supervising BCBAs Collaborate with BCBAs, BTs, caregivers, and other team members, contributing ideas and being responsive to families and team members Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and attend team meetings as scheduled Maintain strict client confidentiality in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for all medical and treatment records and services rendered Complete daily session notes in a thorough and timely manner Conduct all work with integrity and honesty in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board's code of conduct Skills Versatility and adaptability while working with clients with unique needs, implementing behavior analytic programming, and collaborating with team members and families Excellent attention to detail when implementing behavior analytic programming, collecting data, and completing session notes Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for understanding behavior, identifying patterns, and utilizing effective response strategies Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and professional skills to facilitate collaboration with families, specialists, and team members and maintain medical records Strong organizational skills for managing client sessions while maintaining client safety and engagement, implementing behavior analytic programming, effectively utilizing materials and the environment, collecting data, and documenting services in client session notes Familiarity with all laws and regulations pertaining to behavioral interventions and the requirements set forth in the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)'s RBT Ethics Code (2.0) The ability to approach all interactions with clients, families, team members, and stakeholders with professionalism, empathy, compassion, patience, and care Requirements High school diploma or GED certificate Able to keep up with active children while maintaining enthusiasm and professionalism (may include squatting down, bending over, or playing on the floor) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check Previous exposure to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or special needs through family, friends, or work experience is a plus!
