Title:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Reports to: Director of Special EducationEssential Functions:
- Serves as a district-wide service provider and behavior consultant for special education students requiring services beyond the scope of a school psychologist.
- Serves as a member of a clinical team including the Principal, Special Education Teacher, General Education Teacher, Team Chairperson, related service providers.
- Train Tutors/Paraprofessionals so they can appropriately assist in the implementation of behavior plans.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree and BCBA Certification
- Extensive experience working with children and their families
- Experience working with children at the elementary level desired
- Experience in completing Functional Behavior Assessments and developing behavior improvement plans
- Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with the other District BCBA to provide support to the District's substantially separate programs, as well as other identified students.
- Analyze available student data to help determine where, when, and why problem behaviors occur.
- Directly observe students and complete Functional Behavior assessments as requested by staff, according to established procedural guidelines.
- Define all target behaviors in objective and measurable terms and design an appropriate data collection system to measure the target behaviors.
- Integrate appropriate setting event, antecedent, teaching, and consequences strategies to reduce problem behavior and increase alternative replacement behaviors.
- Provide district wide Professional Training as well as Train staff members on the implementation of the behavior support plans.
- Monitor the individual's behavior data and provide descriptive progress notes on a quarterly basis (or more frequently if needed.)
- Conduct treatment fidelity assessments to ensure proper implementation of the behavior support plan.
