Immediately Job Description Provide direct and consultative therapeutic and evaluative services for the behavior assessment of the school setting. The BCBA conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the result. The BCBA creates and implements function-based behavior intervention plans, and teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis. The following outline of the role and responsibilities is intended to provide a broad overview, but is subject to change according to the needs of LPVEC, as required by the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments with or without a FA 2.Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the classroom, home and/or inclusion setting 3.Direct staff training and development around principles of ABA 4.Provide program/individual staff consultation on therapeutic staff design/implementation of BIPs 5.Provide program/individual staff consultation on development/implementation of curriculum grounded in principles of ABA 6.Facilitate Team consultation meetings with classroom teachers/ related service providers/ paraprofessional staff 7.Modify training materials when needed 8.Review required BIP and ABA methodology with new employees 9.Schedule and document personal provision of services to students, as outlined on IEPs 10.Maintain daily intervention notes 11.Provide guidance for and indirect monitoring of staff entries in daily intervention notes 12.Assist school-based staff with development of learning objectives rooted in theories of ABA 13.Complete student program supervision notes 14.Engage in social-behavioral elements of annual IEP process (attendance at Team mtgs, updating of PLEP A/B, update of current performance data, development of goals/benchmarks, progress reports, annual summary, etc.) as needed 15.Perform other duties as requested by the program supervisor or the Director of Special & Alternative Education, within the scope of job description
