Your Role- Beyond the
Chart:
Move past simple ABC data to look at the neurological and environmental triggers behind a student's ""unsolved problems.""MTSS & Prevention:
Work at the ""Tier 1"" level to help general education teachers create ""regulation-ready"" classrooms, reducing the need for intensive interventions before they start.Collaborative Leadership:
Partner with our Speech-Language Pathologists, Social Workers, and the District BCBA team to ensure a ""Whole Child"" approach to IEP development.Coaching & Capacity:
Act as a lead mentor for our specialized program staff, providing real-time, side-by-side coaching that builds the skill set of our front-line Ed Techs. Key Responsibilities- Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA): Conduct multidimensional assessments that prioritize the student's voice and sensory profile.
BIP Development:
Create Behavior Intervention Plans that are restorative, not punitive, focusing on teaching replacement skills and self-regulation strategies.Safety & Crisis Prevention:
Serve as a lead trainer in de-escalation techniques (Safety-Care or similar), ensuring that physical intervention is always the last resort.Data Integrity:
Utilize digital tracking tools to provide the IEP team with clear, visual evidence of student progress and ""stamina"" for learning. QualificationsCertification:
Current BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB.Licensure:
Maine State Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a behavior analyst.Experience:
Experience in a public school setting is preferred- The ""X""
