Behavior Technician Aspen Learning Center Bloomfield Hills, MI Job Details Part-time $16 - $21 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications RBT Certification Teamwork High school diploma or GED Driver's License Working with children Direct support Positive reinforcement (classroom management strategies) Time management Full Job Description Aspen Learning Center is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and energetic Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their homes. The Behavior Technician will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized behavior intervention plans, teach new skills, and support each child's development in the areas of communication, social interaction, play, and daily living skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct ABA therapy to children of all ages in a 1:1 setting, primarily in the home environment Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a BCBA Collect accurate data on target behaviors and skill acquisition Monitor and document the client's progress and communicate findings to supervising BCBAs Use positive reinforcement strategies and evidence-based interventions to support learning and behavior goals Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required Maintain a professional, respectful, and collaborative relationship with clients, families, and team members Follow all ethical and clinical guidelines in alignment with BACB standards and company policy EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent, required Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Psychology, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field, preferred EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with special needs populations and/or working with children , required Minimum 6 months experience working as a Behavior Technician or similar role supporting children diagnosed with ASD in a clinic, home, or school setting, preferred LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification, preferred CPR/First Aid, preferred KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Physical requirements: Ability to engage in active play and physical interaction with young children, including bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, standing for extended periods, running, and transitioning quickly between positions Must be able to lift and carry up to 25-35 pounds as needed (e.g., therapy materials, assisting a child) Visual and auditory acuity to observe, monitor, and respond to client needs and behaviors Ability to safely and consistently implement prompting or redirection techniques when necessary, under clinical guidance and within ethical standards Work environment: Services are delivered primarily in clients' homes, which means each work setting may differ day to day. Behavior Technicians must be comfortable working in a range of home environments, including those with pets, varying levels of cleanliness, and different family dynamics Sessions may take place both indoors and outdoors, depending on the child's needs and goals. Technicians should be prepared to support learning in backyards, parks, or community spaces when appropriate Candidates must demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity when entering clients' homes and engaging with diverse families While each session is conducted one-on-one with the child, collaboration with caregivers and clinical supervisors is an integral part of the work environment Travel requirements: Must have a valid drivers license and reliable, personal transportation for travel to and from client homes; due to HIPAA regulations and client confidentiality, the use of ride-share services (e.g., Uber, Lyft) or being driven by another person is not permitted.
