Are you energetic & caring with keen observational skills? If so, you might be the right fit as a Behavior Technician with Children's Therapy Corner. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, the Behavior Technician provides direct center and/or home based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum. You will be working one-on-one with your client to provide support outlined in their treatment plan. You and your client will work on a daily basis to build skills, create relationships, and enhance their day to day lives. Interdisciplinary therapy is highly utilized here at CTC, and you will be able to see the difference you are making! Behavior technicians work with families and children to support our clients in their areas of need. You will impact your client every day while helping them thrive and build their skills.
The behavior technician will:
1) Implement behavior support plans under the direction of a behavior analyst. 2) Learn about and implement programs adapted from a variety of assessments such as
VB-MAPP, ABLLS, PEAK, AFLS, ELFS
(etc.) 3) Teach children to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skills as stated in the child's individual treatment plan. 4) Complete daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner. 5) Function as an active member of the treatment team. Your team is expanded throughout disciplines within the company. You will be working in ABA, but you will also be partnering with Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and more to ensure quality support is always there for our clients and treatment plans are successful. 6) Consistently implement behavior plans to reduce a child's behavior and promote appropriate behaviors. 7) Be flexible and willing to work with children with different skills levels. 8) Attend team meetings to discuss a child's progress, changes to specific programs and/or changes and additions to behavior treatment plans. 9) Become fluent in de-escalation and safety strategies to contribute to the wellbeing and safety of our clients. 10) Be timely, reliable, and receptive to feedback. Education/Experience:
Preferred but not required skills include:
  • Completed a minimum of two years of college university education in psychology, social work, education, communication disorders, behavioral science, human development or a related field.
  • Have a background in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders.
