Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract An exciting part-time opportunity awaits for skilled professionals passionate about supporting students through effective behavior interventions. This onsite role involves collaborating with colleagues to foster positive learning environments across several schools for the 2025-2026 academic year. You will partner closely with another Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator as you champion positive behavior change and provide meaningful support for students' social-emotional growth.
Key Qualifications:
Active BCBA certification or state teaching license (tier 3 or 4) in Special Education is required (RBTs are not eligible) Background in conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing positive behavior supports Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ideally in a school environment Strong understanding of data-driven programming, special education law, and IEP development Capacity to train and support staff on behavioral strategies Flexible, adaptive, and calm under pressure—especially in crisis situations Willingness to travel between 3-4 school sites
Key Responsibilities:
Consult with educational teams to design, implement, and monitor student-specific positive behavior interventions Conduct functional behavioral assessments and analyze data to inform decisions Implement strategies using de-escalation and reinforcement of positive student choices Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations Maintain a safe, supportive school environment and respond effectively to challenging behaviors Provide coaching and training to school staff on effective behavioral interventions Contribute to a positive workplace culture and collaborate on continuous improvement This contract role offers the chance to make a significant impact while collaborating with dedicated professionals.
