Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Make a significant impact in the school setting by supporting students and staff as a Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time, onsite contract role offers the opportunity to collaborate with another Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator, serving 3-4 school sites (specific locations will be assigned based on district needs). Typical hours are 8:30 am-4:10 pm, totaling 37.5 hours week, with some variation possible.
Qualifications:
Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or hold a valid Tier 3 or 4 Special Education Teaching License Experience in conducting functional behavior assessments Background in implementing positive behavior interventions and supports in educational settings Skilled in using de-escalation techniques, data-driven decision making, and supporting crisis situations Comfortable providing training and consultation to staff Strong communication and teamwork skills RBTs are not eligible for this role
Key Responsibilities:
Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports customized to student and site needs Collaborate with school teams to design and implement appropriate student programming Conduct assessments, reinforce positive behaviors, and provide behavior redirection as needed Support and help develop individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines Deliver staff training related to behavioral supports and strategies Monitor and maintain student and environmental safety at all times Adapt quickly to changing student needs and respond calmly in crisis situations Ensure all responsibilities align with district policies and procedures, including staff and student handbooks Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Special Education Step into a role where your expertise will make a difference in the educational outcomes and well-being of students.
