Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Make an impact as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, working full-time onsite throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Collaborate with talented educational professionals to develop and implement positive behavioral supports for students across multiple school sites. This contract position provides the opportunity to shape learning environments and directly contribute to student success in a supportive, team-based setting.
Key Qualifications:
Either a current BCBA certification or a valid Special Education teacher license (Tier 3 or 4 required for Special Education applicants) Experience in schools as a Behavior Specialist or similar role strongly preferred Ability to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop/implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Strong consultative, communication, and teamwork skills Skillful in crisis response and use of de-escalation strategies; willingness to use restrictive procedures if necessary Experience supporting the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Flexibility to travel between assigned school sites; assignments take location into consideration but are not guaranteed

Evaluate student needs by conducting behavioral assessments Develop and implement positive, proactive supports to reinforce appropriate behaviors and reduce challenging ones Consult and collaborate with school teams, administration, and other Behavior Specialists to create effective plans Support staff through training and integrating behavioral recommendations into classroom routines Maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all students and staff Collect, track, and analyze data to adapt and refine interventions for individual students Remain compliant with district policy, state and federal guidelines, and school handbooks Respond calmly and effectively during crisis situations Take this opportunity to help create positive change in multiple educational settings, working closely with teams who value professional expertise and fresh perspectives.
