Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a critical support role as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, making a meaningful difference across multiple school sites for the 2025-2026 academic year. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with typical hours from 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM and a caseload that spans 3-4 schools. Collaborate closely with a dedicated BIS colleague and a Special Education Administrator as you empower students in a dynamic educational setting.
Qualifications:
BCBA certification or current Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or 4 required for SpEd Teachers) Experience in school-based or clinical behavioral support preferred Confident conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Demonstrated ability with de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, restrictive procedures Strong communication, collaboration, and training skills with school teams Proficient in utilizing data-driven approaches to inform interventions Flexible, calm, and adaptable, especially during crisis situations
Key Responsibilities:
Consult, communicate, and collaborate with school staff to deliver effective behavioral programming Design and implement individualized positive behavior interventions in alignment with students' needs and IEPs Complete functional behavior assessments to support student success Provide ongoing training for staff to enhance behavioral practices and student safety Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal policies regarding special education and behavioral support Regularly analyze data to fine-tune intervention strategies Foster a safe, supportive environment for all students and staff You'll help shape a more positive, supportive learning climate while developing your expertise alongside an engaged team.
