Behavior Intervention Specialist

Job description A Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides direct behavioral and therapeutic support to individuals in a structured day treatment setting. The specialist implements individualized treatment and behavior plans under the supervision of clinical staff to promote emotional regulation, positive behavior, and skill development.

Primary Duties:

Implement behavior intervention and treatment plans as assigned. Support clients during group activities, classroom instruction, and therapeutic sessions. Monitor behaviors and use approved de-escalation and behavior management strategies. Collect and document behavioral data, progress notes, and incident reports. Assist clients with coping skills, social skills, and daily routines. Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Collaborate with clinicians, teachers, and treatment team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, education, or a related field required, OR a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional needs Experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional needs preferred. Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
