Job Description

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Education required Master's Degree preferred
Qualifications:
Must have or be eligible for a North Dakota teaching license Minimum of three years of teaching experience; middle school experience preferred Knowledge and expertise in assessments, data analysis, and student behavior interventions Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal skills and willing to work as a team member Ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the school community Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and planning and organization Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly in multiple formats and work collaboratively with others
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and implementing PBIS and/or MTSS-B Training in Behavior Solutions, restorative practices, and/or
Response To Interventions At Work Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the building Principal and Associate Principal, the Behavior Interventionist supports a positive learning environment by assisting teachers, students, and families with behavioral strategies, mentoring, and interventions to ensure all students can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in coordinating and implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and the Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavioral Health (MTSS-B) across the building Support teachers with implementation of school-wide PBIS and MTSS plans with emphasis on behavioral interventions and modeling strategies to develop students' social and emotional skills Set behavioral goals, monitor progress, and adjust behavioral plans in collaboration with IEP and/or MTSS teams Provide behavioral support and collaboration with teachers, instructional coaches, school staff, and administrators Work directly with students who are dysregulated or in need of behavior intervention Record, manage, and analyze student assessment and behavior data using platforms such as Panorama Lead or participate in school committees and teams related to behavioral and student support services Assist in managing student behavioral incidents and discipline, including maintenance of records in accordance with district policy Support the developmental and behavioral needs of students in grades 6-8. Collaborate with teaching teams to align expectations and intervention plans. Confer with teachers, support staff, students, and families on student behavior and discipline concerns Provide consultation and mentoring services to students, as well as support and resources to parents Recommend and assist in coordinating appropriate behavioral support programs Support co-curricular activities and supervise in-school suspension programs as needed Provide professional development and training for staff focused on behavior strategies and interventions Promote a safe and respectful school environment and educate students on behavioral expectations Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by building leadership
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
188-day contract
EVALUATION
By the Principal at least twice each year in the first three years of service (December 15 & April 15), and at least once each year thereafter (April 15).
