Employment:
This is a full-time 37.5 hours per week position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.
Summary/Objective:
Evaluates the behavioral, cognitive, and emotional functioning of individuals with developmental disabilities. Offers recommendations and positive approaches to assist with behavior modification and development of new skills that will enhance quality of life for individuals. Functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing services in accordance with individual needs and Life Plans. The focus is on maximizing the potential of the individuals in all facets of their life and providing needed support to agency staff. Required Education and Experience Must meet one of the following requirements: National Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) or a NYS license as a Behavior Analyst (LBA) and a Master's Degree in behavior analysis or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology; or Either a Master's Degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology or applied psychology, or related human services field, or a NYS license in mental health counseling, and OPWDD-approved specialized training or experience in functional assessment techniques and behavior support plan development; or Bachelor's Degree in a human services field, and have provided behavioral services for an agency in OPWDD system continuously since 2012 and actively working toward a Master's Degree. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have demonstrated excellent listening skills. Must have a valid NYS Driver's License. Computer proficiency.

Essential Functions Imparts agency philosophy of "Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential" to individuals, families, program staff and community resources. Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy. Provides behavioral diagnostics and behavior management programs and interventions. Develops a meaningful and realistic plan of service to maximize independence, productivity, and community integration. Develops and delivers services in areas including but not limited to: Behavior Management Planning and Functional Assessments. Recommends environmental modification for individuals as needed. Trains staff in Behavior Management Plans, interventions, environmental modifications, crisis interventions, results of assessments, diagnosis, and prognosis. Documents all diagnostic assessment reports, management plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner and provides such information to treatment team as needed. Achieves program and department goals by performing other responsibilities as required. Consults with agency staff regarding the social and emotional needs of the individual and the family. Assists staff in modifying attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing their understanding of themselves, our individual, and their situation. Performs observations as needed. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, identifies emotional and social problems of individuals. Attends meetings as assigned. Attends monthly supervision with licensed Psychologist or LCSW. Assists in the periodic re-assessment of treatment plans in accordance with established procedures and regulatory agency requirements. Updates behavior plan and medication monitoring plan on an annual basis and as needed. Maintains documentation that meets the standards of the agency, regulatory Agencies and the standards of care. Adheres to agency, regulatory Agencies and professional policies, procedures, and standards of care. Achieves program and department goals by performing additional responsibilities as required. Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development. Adheres to agency's policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.

Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, but employee will be expected to work at any of our partner agencies. Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
