Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, providing support and implementing behavioral therapy strategies under the supervision of a licensed professional. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through effective behavioral interventions and patient care. Responsibilities Implement individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. Collect and document data related to client behavior and progress. Assist in conducting diagnostic evaluations to assess client needs. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care strategies. Provide direct support to clients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. This role requires staying close to clients during sessions and being able to follow their movement throughout the environment. Staff must be able to perform various physical tasks—including bending, squatting, lifting 25+ pounds, quick movement, quick response time, and maintaining a pace consistent with young children. Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in behavioral health. Consistency and reliability with scheduling is very important. Skills Proficient understanding of medical terminology and its application in behavioral health settings. Experience with research data collection methods relevant to behavioral therapy. Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and their implementation. Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members. Compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and respect for client dignity. Familiarity with behavioral therapy practices and techniques.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move quickly and safely in response to client behaviors, including short-distance sprinting (approximately 5 yards) Ability to transition rapidly from seated or floor positions to standing (including from a cross-legged or seated floor position) Ability to lift, carry, and/or assist with up to 50 pounds Ability to engage in frequent bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, and standing for extended periods Ability to maintain physical stamina throughout session durations (typically 2-6 hours) Join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve by applying your skills as a Behavior Technician.
