Job Description

  • Job Objective:
  • Provide support to students, staff, and families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills.
  • Essential Functions:
  • _The following are typical work responsibilities.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions._ 1. Monitor education laws, rules, and regulations. Help ensure that program policies/procedures support non- biased assessment/planning activities. Facilitate compliance with legal mandates. 2. Work collaboratively with all staff and provide input on all areas of behavioral programming including the training of district staff. 3. Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment training models of teaching. 4. Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for students and their families. 5. Assist in the oversight and training of Registered Behavior Technicians. Training RBTs in ABA principles and methodology and other behavior reduction strategies. 6. Provide model teaching and other direct instructional supports including, but not limited to, classroom management, class instruction relative to supporting positive behavior, and in-service instruction to other support professionals. 7. Conduct classroom and individual student observations to support behavior across all environments. 8. Take lead on the special education process of conducting high-quality functional behavior assessments and analyses and develop appropriate behavior intervention plans and strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors. Ongoing monitoring of individual student plans and changes, as necessary. 9. Provide ongoing support and training to district staff and where appropriate, families. 10. Attend and participate in ETR and IEP meetings when appropriate. 11. Create materials to support behavior strategies within the classroom. 12. Create an ongoing data collection system to establish a baseline and programmatic efficacy for all students, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming. 13. Meet as needed with building staff to discuss ongoing student issues and to provide support when necessary. 14. Provide professional development to district staff. 15. Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources. In addition, continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification are necessary (32 credits every 2 years). 16. Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between staff and families, and provide ongoing feedback to government-related agencies that contract with such families. 17. Perform other specific job-related duties as required.
